Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan was launched in 2001 by the Government of India. It was launched to achieve the Universalisation of Elementary Education (UEE).

OBJECTIVE AND BENEFITS OF SARVA SHIKSHA ABHIYAN
Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan was launched in 2001 with the aim to provide free education to children of 6-14 age group. This Abhiyan is termed as Education to all movements. It was an initiative taken by former prime minister of India Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
