The initiative called Vishwakarma Shram Samman Scheme was launched to promote the development and self-employment of the labourers. Under this scheme, migrant workers who have returned to traditional artisans will be provided with six days of free training to enhance their skills and craftsmanship, enabling them to start their own livelihoods. What is PM Vishwakarma Kaushal Samman Scheme 2023? 

Under this scheme, the traditional craftsmen and artisans , such as embroiderers, tailors, basket weavers, barbers, goldsmiths, blacksmiths, potters, confectioners, cobblers, etc., will be provided financial assistance ranging from 10,000 to 10 lakh rupees by the Government to establish small industries. The entire expense of this scheme will be borne by the government. More than 15,000 people will be employed annually under this scheme. The amount provided to the labourers under the Vishwakarma Shram Samman Scheme will be directly transferred to their bank accounts. Therefore, the applicant must have a bank account and it should be linked to their Aadhaar card.

The Industrial entrepreneurship centre is inviting applications from skilled workers who are doing better work in the district, including barbers, goldsmiths, blacksmiths, potters, confectioners, cobblers, tailors, and sewing machine workers, under the Vishwakarma Shram Samman Scheme and the entrepreneurship centre, to provide benefits to their daughters. Under this scheme, 20 types of workers will be given toolkits after training. After that, the workers can start their own employment. Additionally, if a worker wants to promote his business, he will also be eligible for a loan exemption from the department. To avail the benefits of the Vishwakarma Shram Samman Scheme, beneficiaries can submit their applications along with their Aadhaar card, PAN card, photo, and their business certificate to the department through the official website of the department. After verification of the application forms, all eligible beneficiaries will be provided free training, and they will also be provided with a toolkit after the training.

To address this issue, the Government has initiated this scheme.
